Dr Kassim Said Mwitondi is a UK-based Tanzanian academic, with a wealth of knowledge in delivering data-driven solutions to organisations. A well-rounded multi-disciplinary professional, he commands a lot of respect in the global Data Science research community. His research work focuses on the application of deep learning and other machine learning techniques in interdisciplinary modelling of real–life phenomena within the domain of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)–viewing each SDG as a Big Data node. He is actively involved in promoting open-data for open-science and academia-industry partnerships through apprenticeships and industrial placement schemes. He has published extensively in his area of specialisation, and he is a regular speaker at international conferences on Data Science

Dr Happy Marumo Sithole is a South African scientist, with immense analytical, strategic research development and implementation expertise in physics, materials science and Information and Communication Technologies. He has over 30-years track record of pratical experience in diverse industries and academia, where he has managed multi-disciplinary teams and completed projects of high quality and standard. He has organised and hosted high level networks in Science, Engineering and ICT industries both in South Africa and overseas. With his working experience of Tanzanian institutions and across the SADC countries, he is a great asset to VIICS’ knowledge portfolio.
